Born and raised in Sweden, I grew up surrounded by some of the world's most beautiful landscapes and cities with stunning architecture. My father, a painter and architect, instilled in me a deep respect and appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us. This foundation would shape my artistic journey for years to come.
As a young adult, I made the journey to Rhode Island, where I discovered the enchanting coastlines, forests, and mountains of New England. These new landscapes rekindled my passion for natural beauty and became a wellspring of inspiration for my art. To me, being an artist is not just a profession—it's a privilege and a responsibility to share the wonder of our world through my eyes.
I strive to capture the essence of my life experiences through my art, using vibrant colors, rich textures, and nuanced shadows to express my love and enchantment with the natural world. My preferred medium is [mention preferred medium, e.g., oil on canvas, watercolors, etc.], which allows me to [brief explanation of why this medium suits the artist's style].
My artistic journey has led me to showcase my work in various venues. Currently, my art is on display at Café Choklad, a local Swedish café in Providence, RI. I've had the honor of presenting two solo exhibitions at the Scandinavian Cultural Center in Newton, Massachusetts, in the Spring of 2022 and January of 2024. It was a privilege to have my art hung and viewed in such a beautiful space.
I'm proud to be represented by Cade Tompkins Projects, and thirty of my paintings are on permanent display at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. As an artist member of the Providence Art Club, I've had the opportunity to participate in several exhibitions. In 2023, my paintings were featured in the Little Picture Show, a Member's Exhibit, and a Three Member Art Show. Looking ahead, I'm excited to be part of the Small Pictures Show in November 2024 and another Member's Exhibit in January 2025.
One of my most cherished accomplishments came recently when Providence Mayor Brett Smiley commissioned a work from me to be hung in City Hall. My painting of Providence's WaterFire now hangs right outside the mayor's office—an honor that fills me with immense pride and gratitude.
